Retention is king. People and culture becomes a topic in the Board of Directors.

According to the Federal Statistical Office, around 700,000 employees will retire by 2040. On the other hand, there will be around 230000 young workers joining the labour force. A vacuum is inevitable. To make matters worse, younger people tend to want to work less and change employers every two to three years on average. This will further intensify the battle for skilled labour. The time it takes to find a job (time to hire) is increasing and overall personnel costs are exploding. The consequences of unfilled positions are so that the issue is becoming a matter for the Board of Directors.
